If you're like me, you've already begun to feel the urge to transition into your spring wardrobe, shoes included. Not that you don't love your fall boots - you've heard me say it a million times: we Oregonians are boot wearers through and through! That doesn't, however, mean we can just turn a blind eye to the facts of fashion life: January meets us with the inevitability of new spring arrivals. Of course you aren't going to bare your arms in that gauzy new tank just yet, but maybe you'll layer it under a cozy cardigan and snuggly scarf - voila, outfit refreshed! 

So, even though it's still considered winter time, I need something to remind me that spring is on its way. This year that sentiment materialized itself in the form of the Freebird Lasso bootie. So easy to pull on with it's covered elastic gores, and so dang stylish in that white distressed snake skin, topped on a low-but-not-flat wooden heel. It's totally perfect. I can still sneak in my wool socks for staying warm, but anything I decide to wear is instantly freshened up with this boot's light hue and sassy ankle height. And of course when the weather does start to turn, I can pair them with a springy dress or light colored denim. Yep, they're versatile too.

NAVY, MY NEUTRAL

All Black Wide Heel

Recently, I found myself searching for the perfect neutral to wear with a few of my Fall favorites. I needed something to work with my grey wool coat, Pendleton scarf, and a trendy neon yellow beanie. Sometimes all at the same time.

Gotta work with my three Fall favorites.

Of course I have black covered already, and I've done the whiskey/cognac thing so many times. So, in hopes of changing it up from yet another taupe bootie, I decided to pick up the All Black Wide Heel in navy. I know what you're thinking: "But navy is so hard to match!" or maybe, "Oh, no. Navy is the color of my mom's old work suits." And you might be right. However, this cutie is different. Just bright enough to pop against black (that's the rule, folks: you can wear navy and black together as long as they aren't so similar it looks like you got dressed in the dark), plus they match jeans perfectly, so just about anything I'd wear with denim is fair game. 

Side note? I can wear them all day, and carry a baby in them. And please don't be scared of the suede, a little protective spray and you're good to go! The texture is so rich and warm - don't miss out.
